Steps for planning a health education event
- Prepare everything you need to know about the topic and keep in mind the audience you are addressing
- Start the presentation with what people already know about the antenatal care service, and add on, what people do not know. E.g. you may need to tell them about the advantages of antenatal care, and how often and at what time a pregnant woman should have check-ups
- Encourage participants to share their knowledge and experiences, and express their ideas and suggestions freely
- Find out what questions, comments or issues anyone still has, and answer questions
- Thank everyone for their participation and encourage them to tell others what they have learned
