Normal Body Temperature

A normal body temperature is close to 37°C or just under 98°F. The woman does not feel hot to touch. 

Fever

If a woman has a fever with a temperature above 37.5°C (or 100°F), and she feels hot to touch: Refer her to a higher health facility if the fever does not come down in 8 hours

A fever can be caused by:

Sickness (example: flu, malaria)

An infection of part of the body (example : bladder infection, uterus infection)

Dehydration (loss of body fluids due to not drinking enough water)

What to do in case of high fever

Give 500 to 1000 milligrams of paracetamol by mouth every 4 to 6 hours

Have her drink one cup of fluid every hour

Wash her body with a cloth dipped in cool water
