Piles (Hemorroids)
Piles are swollen veins around the anus. They result from the weight of the baby in the womb.They may burn, hurt or itch. Sometimes they bleed when a woman passes a stool, especially if she is constipated.
It helps the woman to:
- Eat a lot of fruit and vegetables, and drinking plenty of fluids - to avoid constipation.
- Sitting in a warm bath or lying down can help avoid the pain.

Constipation
It helps the woman to:
- Drink plenty of water - at least 8 cups a day.
- Eat fruits and good with a lot of natural fiber, like brown rice or whole wheat.
- Walk, move, and exercise every day.
- Try home or plant - based remedies that will soften the stool (don't take strong laxatives).
