Early diagnosis and correct treatment greatly improve the outcomes and reduce the risk of complications. Pharyngitis due to Group A Streptococci should be treated by doctors using a drug called Benzathine penicillin. This drug is given in the form of an injection, which is not authorised for use at Health Post level.
