Introduction to Contact Tracing

• Once a case has been identified, one of the public health measures is tracking down people who may have been exposed to the virus is through contact tracing. 
  
• It is likely not to be feasible when community transmission is occurring.
• Regional States & City Administration are advised to use and decide when and how to do contact tracing based on the level of transmission and outbreak.
• Only test contacts for SARS-CoV2 if they are symptomatic; contacts without symptoms should not be tested.
• Maintain a low threshold for tracing exposed healthcare workers, due to their high chance of contact with vulnerable people.
