What TO Do:
In addition to general cold-chain management principles for +2 to
+8ºC, when handling vaccines stored at UCC, it is also essential to:
- Follow existing guidance specific
for UCC management.
- Use appropriate personal
protective equipment (e.g., cryogenic gloves) for personnel in charge of
managing UCC.
- Follow guidance and apply best
practices for managing and disposing of used phase-change material.
All responsible personnel (supply chain/ cold-chain
personnel, vaccination team and supervisors) should be trained and demonstrate
ability to manage UCC according to standard operating procedures.
