A Confirmed Case of COVID-19
A person with laboratory confirmation of COVID-19 infection, irrespective of clinical signs and symptoms.
Diagnosis of COVID-19 - Viral testing RT-PCR remains the only specific method of COVID-19 diagnosis.
- During the initial evaluation the following laboratory tests should be performed for hospitalized patients.
- Complete blood count (CBC) with differential, with a focus on the total lymphocyte and platelet count trend
- Serum creatinine
- Liver function test
- Hepatitis B virus serology
- Hepatitis C virus antibody
- HIV antigen/antibody testing
- Chest X-ray
- Prothrombin Time (PT) and Partial Prothrombin Time (PTT) for ICU admitted patients
