Diagnosis of COVID-19

Viral testing RT-PCR remains the only specific method of COVID-19 diagnosis.
During the initial evaluation the following laboratory tests should be performed for hospitalized patients.

Complete blood count (CBC) with differential, with a focus on the total lymphocyte and platelet count trend
Serum creatinine
Liver function test
Hepatitis B virus serology
Hepatitis C virus antibody
HIV antigen/antibody testing
Chest X-ray
Prothrombin Time (PT) and Partial Prothrombin Time (PTT) for ICU admitted patients
