According to the MOH, COVID-19 cases with no symptoms or mild symptoms meet the requirements for HBIC.
Confirmed COVID-19 cases that present with moderate to severe symptoms are not suitable for home-based isolation and care.
Most confirmed COVID-19 cases in Ethiopia have had no symptoms or mild symptoms, making them potentially eligible for home-based care.

I. Toolkits for Home-based Isolation and Care

Health workers involved in HBIC, including community health volunteers, health extension workers and other health workers, are expected to apply the following toolkits for HBIC which are annexed in the national guideline for HBIC:

Case follow-up reporting form	Used to report the status of COVID-19 patient’s enrolled to HBIC by community health volunteer or health extension workers to the nearest health facility
Discharge letter	A certificate for COVID-19 confirmed a patient who is enrolled and completed HBIC according to the national protocol.
