Follow-up, Referral and Discharge During HBIC
When to refer to a health facility?
- Trained health worker conducts a regular evaluation of the patient either in person or by phone and makes decision on referral of the COVID-19 patient and/or testing of the family members in the following conditions:
- If a Symptomatic patient develops worsening of symptoms such as bluish lips or face, chest pain, difficulty breathing, disorientation or confusion and inability to stay awake.
- If an Asymptomatic patient develops a new onset of symptoms such as fever, cough, loss of taste or smell, sore throat and body aches.
- If the patient needs Professional Mental Health and Psychological Support.
- Note: If a home caregiver or other family member becomes sick or develops symptoms of COVID-19, he/she must self isolate and contact a health care worker for COVID-19 testing.
