What is Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WaSH)?
- WaSH - is the collective term for Water, Sanitation and Hygiene.
- Water – stands for access to safe water supply.
- Sanitation – stands for access and utilization of latrine and ways to separate human waste from contact with people.
- Hygiene – stands for good hygiene practices, especially handwashing with soap and water.
- The three components of WaSH are interdependent; one cannot be fully realized without the other.
- WaSH provides the necessary and adequate infrastructure, materials and equipment to enable the implementation of appropriate IPC practices.
