Community engagement in the context of COVID-19 is a process of developing relationships (characterized by respect, trust and a sense of purpose) that enable people of a community and organizations to work together to address COVID-19.

Key activities recommended for engaging communities:

Establish task forces at all (national, regional, woreda and kebele community) levels that will lead the coordination process.
Map and identify different community platforms and stakeholders that will be engaged in the COVID-19 response.
Ensure multi-sectoral engagement for COVID-19 response.
Develop guiding documents with roles and responsibilities.
Set a clear objective and reach in consensus on the common goal.
