Responsibilities of HEWs

•  To give orientation to different community platforms (WDGs, MDGs, religious leaders, Idir leaders, youths etc.) and engage them in the prevention of COVID-19
•  Conduct house-to-house acute respiratory illness (ARI) case finding
•  Register any person with ARI and refer to the nearby health center (RRT)
•  Provide health information/health education for the community   about COVID-19 causes, mode of transmission and prevention 
•  Integrate routine health services (e.g. EPI, ANC, etc.) while doing COVID-19 prevention
• Conduct contact tracing in coordination with the RRT established at HC or woreda level
•  Provide psychosocial support for affected families
