• Does the material use bulleted or numbered lists?
• Bulleted or numbered lists are easier to understand and remember than long continuous paragraphs.
• Is the material organized in chunks with headings?
• Headings give the reader an idea of what to expect under that topic.
• Is the most important information the primary audience needs summarized in the first paragraph or section?
• Most readers will only read or retain the first thing they see so put the most important information at the beginning.
