  • Evaluates the implementation of preparedness activities to safely reopen schools
  • Supports resource mobilization;
  • Ensures strong multi-sectoral collaboration among sectors;
  • Provides oversight and gives direction

Regional Level

The existing COVID-19 response coordination platforms chaired by regional presidents/vice presidents

  • Evaluates the implementation of preparedness activities to safely reopen schools;
  • Supports resource mobilization;
  • Ensures strong multi-sectoral collaboration among sectors;
  • Provides oversight and gives direction

Zonal/woreda level

Existing COVID-19 response coordination mechanisms led by zonal and woreda administrators

  • Oversee the continuous cascading of capacity building activities such as trainings to schools

Kebele level

Kebele level committee (kebele admin, school head, HEWs, representatives from Parents-Teachers Associations, volunteers, community leaders).

  • Ensuring schools meet the minimum standard to be able to reopen safely,
  • Promote the practice of COVID-19 prevention and control measures in schools,
  • Conduct routine assessment of schools,
  • Mobilize communities to engage in school renovation and cleaning

School level
