What Is Covid-19?

• COVID-19 is an infectious disease caused by most recently discovered coronavirus named SARS-CoV2.
• This new virus and disease were unknown before the outbreak began in Wuhan, China, in December 2019.
• On January 30, 2020 WHO issued a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC) and on March 11, 2020 declared it a pandemic.
• COVID-19 is now a pandemic affecting many countries globally.
• The first COVID-19 case in Ethiopia was identified and reported on March 13, 2020.
