Examples of questions one can ask

• Does the person report any voice changes? Changes in voice may suggest that the airway is swelling and that it may close

• Does the person report any  difficulty with breathing? Problems with breathing may suggest injury to lungs, ribs, muscles, chest wall or spinal injury
• Is there reported bleeding?

• How long has the person been bleeding?

• How many bandages have been soaked?

• Is the bleeding getting better or worse?

• Is there confusion or unusual sleepiness? This may be sign of head injury or shock

• Is there any pain? Where is the pain, what does it feel like and how severe is it?

• Is there nausea or vomiting?

• Is there reported numbness or weakness?
