Because preterm babies are unable to maintain their body temperature, they lose heat easily from their body. In this case, to keep them warm, we should have to follow the warm chain principle. Also, do the following special care:

• Immediately after birth, dry the baby and put into skin to skin contact.
  
• Additional blanket or any local cloth.
  
• Use a cup on the head of the baby.
• An extra heat source in the room should be used.
• Delay bathing of the baby for at least 48 hours.
  
• Initiate breast or cup feeding.
